Clinton Leroy Garvin

Clinton Leroy Garvin, 74, of Clawson, MI, formerly of Leon, WV, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Windemere Park of Oakland in Troy, MI. He was born August 17, 1943, in Washington Court House, OH, a son of the late William David Garvin and Frances (Carpenter) Garvin. Clinton was retired from Detroit Edison Power Plant of Monroe, MI. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his companion, Betty Goodremont; two brothers, Kenneth and James Garvin; and two sisters, Elaine Mayton and Margaret Cantrell. Clinton is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Marci and Craig Amarante of Clawson, MI; two sons, Gary Garvin of Lincoln Park, MI and Matthew Garvin of Clawson, MI; three brothers, Raleigh Garvin of Fort McCoy, FL, Howard Garvin of Lafayette, TN and Robert Henry of Lafayette, TN; two sisters, Hilda Hunt of Rio Grande, OH and Kerma Hunt of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2018, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Jonathan Pinson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Letart. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Monday at the funeral home.
