Clifford Dale Carder, 94, of Point Pleasant, died Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. He was born April 4, 1916 in Point Pleasant, a son of the late George H. Carder and Ella (Rice) Carder. Cliff was a Point Pleasant High School graduate and had worked at Vanadium Corporation, Graham Station, WV and had also worked for Dupont Corporation, Belle, WV. He had served in the United States Army during World War II from 1941 to 1945, and was a former member of American Legion Post No. 23 of Point Pleasant. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Ruby McCulloch Carder; a son, Dennis L. Carder; four brothers, Herman, Howard, Harold, and George Carder; and one sister, Senna (Carder) Rogers. Surviving are a son, Dwight "King" Carder of Point Pleasant; a granddaughter, Carol Carder of Oakland Park, Florida; and one sister, Edna (Carder) Zakaski of Dunbar. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2010 at the Suncrest Cemetery in Point Pleasant with Pastor Isaiah Crump officiating. Burial will follow.
