Cleo E. "Popeye" Burrows Sr.

Cleo Edward "Popeye" Burrows Sr., 80, of Wintersville, OH, died Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in Middleport, OH. He was born May 6, 1935, in Apple Grove, WV, a son of the late Emzie "Red" Burrows and Mary Evelyn (Nibert) Burrows. Cleo was a 1953 graduate of Point Pleasant High School. He was a member of the Life in the Word Ministry Church and was retired from the Ohio Coal Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Beulah Stout. He is survived by three daughters, Vicki DeVault of Bidwell, OH, Debbie Burrows of Gallipolis, OH and Samantha Boggess of Middleport, OH; three sons, Cleo E. "Eddie" Burrows Jr., Charles E. Burrows and Clinton E. Burrows all of Wintersville, OH; three brothers, Carl E. Burrows of Mt. Hope, WV, Charles E. "Jay" Burrows of Fannettsburg, PA and Leotis F. "Odie" Burrows (Jeanette) of Grove City, OH; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant. Burial will follow at Beale Chapel Cemetery in Apple Grove. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Thursday at the funeral home.
