Clarence Eugene Williamson

Clarence Eugene Williamson, 77, of Southside, passed away Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at home after a short battle with cancer.

He was born September 6, 1947, in Southside, WV, a son of the late Ney R. Williamson and Sylvia A. (Eckard) Williamson.

Clarence was a member of the Beech Hill United Methodist Church at Southside.  He was a graduate and played football at Point Pleasant High School, Class of 1966 and attended West Virginia University where he also played football.  He retired as a Wildlife Manager for the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources, but his lifelong passion was farming.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jorja L. (Painter) Williamson of Southside; a daughter, D. Nan  and Carlina Williamson of Southside; son, Aaron L. and Rachael Williamson of South Point, OH; and six grandchildren, Peyton Lee Williamson, Hunter Grey Williamson, Cole Ryan Williamson, Asher Lee Williamson, Reuben Eugene Williamson and Fadley Jorjanne Williamson.  Clarence is also survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Ney R. and Rhonda Williamson of Southside; sisters and brothers-in-law, Zara "Alice" and Karl Click of Mount Alto, WV, Anne "Annie" and Steve Chapman of Nashville, TN, Rebecca L. "Becky" and Donald DeCoy of North Canton, OH and Gayle and Bill Atwell of Wendell, NC; a sister-in-law, Tandy Lyles of Columbia, SC; and beloved nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Steve Williams officiating.  Burial will follow at the Beech Hill Cemetery in Southside.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
