Clarence Leo "Jugs" Gleason Jr., 79, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 8, 2020, at his home in Point Pleasant. He was born March 31, 1941, in Point Pleasant, to the late Clarence Leo Gleason and Opal May (Rainey) Gleason. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul "Rich" Gleason; and a sister, Susie McDaniel. He worked many years at the WV Malleable Iron Co. and the Point Pleasant Marine Co. until their closing. He also worked construction and retired from Poor Boy Tires. He was a mechanic, welder, loved old cars, motorcycles, NASCAR racing, and listening to Alan Jackson sing gospel songs. He attended Bellemead United Methodist Church. Jugs is survived by his wife, Brenda (Booth) Gleason of Point Pleasant; a son, Rusty (Mary) Gleason of Point Pleasant; a daughter, Dawnda (Gleason) Browning of Mason, WV; four grandchildren, Brandon Gleason, Jesse Gleason, and Hannah Gleason all of Point Pleasant, and Megan (Gleason) Averette of North Carolina; three great grandchildren, AJ, Rylie and Mason all of North Carolina; three sisters, Carrie (Carmen) Vigliotte of Point Pleasant, Cookie (Frank) Krautter of Gallipolis, OH, and Jeannie (Frank) Lewis of Columbus, OH. A private memorial service will be held by the family as Jugs had requested. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Kirkland Memorial Gardens.
