Chauncey William Porter

Chauncey William Porter, 79, of Point Pleasant, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022, at home. He was born September 18, 1942, in Gallipolis, OH, a son of the late Curtis Clay Porter and Alma Grace (Scott) Porter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Porter and John Porter. Chauncey was a graduate of Gallia Academy and had attended the University of Rio Grande.He retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Apple Grove. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharon Kay (Hutchinson) Porter of Point Pleasant; two sons, Barry Alan (Darlene) Porter of Point Pleasant and Jeffrey Scott (Jessica) Porter of Point Pleasant; a sister, Joanne (Stephen) Downes of New York City, NY; five grandchildren, Jason Porter, Chad (Donna) Porter, Andrea (Tony) Hayes, Beth (Anthony) Evick and Cierra Porter and fiancé Braden Fridley; and seven great-grandchildren. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 1, 2022, at the Wilcoxen FuneralHome in Point Pleasant with Pastor Gene Harmon officiating.
