Charles Lee Smith Jr., 48, of Point Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. He was born January 22, 1973, in Columbus, OH, a son of the late Franklin David Dickens and Linda Arlene (Hamilton) Gaul of Point Pleasant. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Debbie Monson and Frances Dickens; and father-in-law, Terry Diamond. Charles was a member of the House of Praise and Worship in Point Pleasant.He was a graduate of Meigs High School Class of 1991 and a foreman for Landmarc Enviromental Systems of Naperville, IL. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Ann (Diamond) Smith of Point Pleasant, whom he married October 21, 2018; mother and stepfather, Linda A. and Kevin Gaul of Point Pleasant; children, Cassandra (Cody) Hysell of Rutland, OH, Charles Joseph (Cortney) Smith of Middleport, OH, Dominic Randolph of Point Pleasant and Mason Smith of Point Pleasant; and two grandchildren, Bentley Smith and Maverick Hysell of Rutland.He is also survived by sisters and brothers, Shelly (Darrin) Warth of Burlington, KY, Joshua (Amy) Dickens of Point Pleasant, Frank (Jamie) Dickens of Pomeroy, OH, Jonathan Dickens of Jackson, OH, Elisha Dickens of Glenville, WV, Faith (Charles) Pennington of Pomeroy, Retta Day of Pomeroy and Sheila Dickens of Pomeroy; stepbrothers, Sam, KC and Jason Gaul all of Point Pleasant; and multiple nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Gig Page officiating.
