Charles W. Moses

Charles W. "Charlie" Moses, 78, of Point Pleasant, graduated to his Heavenly home Saturday, July 8, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 18, 1938, in Putnam County to the late Leo and Hatie (Call) Moses. Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1957-1963. He retired from Seacrist Fuels in St. Albans, WV in 1999. He also faithfully pastored in the Mason County area for 38 years at Jordan Baptist Church, Mt. Zion Baptist and New Hope Bible Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Margie (Thevenin) Moses, daughter, Lisa Ann; brothers, Haskel, Thomas, Darrel, Richard and Ottis; and one sister, Rosalee. He is survived by his children, Timothy (Jill) Moses, Vickie (Chuck) Harmon and Matthew (Cyndi) Moses; grandchildren, Jesse and Charlie Raike, KateLynn Harmon, Whitney, Tori, Emily and Chase Moses; great grandchildren, Lilly, Elijah, Abigail and Gracelynn Raike and Cohen Moses; sisters-in-law, Shirley Gibson, Freda, Eleanor and Verna Moses; many nephews and nieces; and last but not least his best buddy Elmer Hart. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at New Hope Bible Baptist Church in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Don Rollins, Pastor Mel Mock and Brother Ronnie Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow at the Lower Hodges Cemetery along Hurricane Creek Road, Hurricane, WV. Military graveside rites will be given by the United States Marine Corps and American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church until service time Wednesday. Special thanks to all our family, friends, neighbors and loved ones that came, in support of Dad and our family.
