Charles David Oliver, 64, of Gallipolis Ferry, WV, died Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at home. He was born April 10, 1948, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Charles Leroy Oliver Jr. and Juanita Jo (Bush) Oliver. Charles attended the Lifeline Apostolic Church in Point Pleasant. He was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War, had retired from General Mills of Wellston, Ohio and the AKZO Nobel Chemical Plant in Gallipolis Ferry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Michael Oliver. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Louetta (Bugg) Oliver of Gallipolis Ferry; two daughters, Kimberly (Toby) Lewis of Gallipolis Ferry and Stacey (Lee) Phillips of Gallipolis Ferry; four grandchildren who were the light of his life, J.D. Lewis, Hannah Lewis, Cody Patterson, and Haleigh Patterson. Also surviving are four sisters, Diann (Charles) Birchfield of Gallipolis Ferry, Linda (Dave) Merrill of Gallipolis Ferry, Judy Meeks of Point Pleasant, and Jeannie (Oliver) Gardner of Point Pleasant. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. Dorsel Messick officiating. Burial will follow in the Wyoma Cemetery at Gallipolis Ferry where military graveside rites will be conducted by the West Virginia Honor Guard.
