Charles C. Cunningham, 81, of Point Pleasant died Saturday, December 27, 2008 at his home. He retired from AEP Philip Sporn Plant in 1992, where he had worked as an instrument technician. He was a U. S. Army veteran serving during WWII and was a member of the American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant, Minturn Lodge No.19 A.F. & A.M., Franklin Commandery No. 17 Knights Templar of Point Pleasant, and Grand Chapter of WV R.A.M. Point Pleasant No.7. Charles was born January 2, 1927 in Letart, WV to the late Donnie E. Cunningham and Inez A. (Ball) Cunningham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle L. Cunningham; and two brothers, Paul Cunningham and Harold Cunningham. Surviving are his stepchildren, Barbara (Randy) Cossin of York, S.C., Karen Cogar of Gallipolis Ferry, Betty (Dencil) McCoy of Chillicothe, Ohio, Mary (Ronnie) McCumber of Severn, Md., James L. (Shirley) Jordan of Hawesville, Ky., Larry E. (Peggy) Jordan of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Lydia Rainey of Point Pleasant, Marie Wright of Huntington, WV; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, December 30 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Gilland officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Letart, WV.
