Charles E. Clark Jr. 88 of Point Pleasant, WV died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Charles was a Christian and attended First Baptist Church in Gallipolis, Ohio; a retired maintenance superintendent from Stauffer Chemical Co., in Gallipolis Ferry; and was also retired from the Army as a Chief Warrant Officer with 39 years service. He was an active member of the NRA, Loyal Order of Moose of Point Pleasant, and NACE Corrosion Specialist Engineer Society. He was born December 22, 1919 in Grahams Station, WV to the late Charles E. Clarke Sr. and Ora E. (Grimm) Clarke. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert R. Clarke; and a nephew, Milton Clarke. Surviving is his loving wife of 64 years, Nadine M. (Spees) Clarke of Point Pleasant; a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Gary L. and Connie Clarke of Gallipolis; a daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia Clarke Worrell and Kenneth Worrell of Max Meadows, VA; five grandchildren, Charles D. (Amanda) Clarke of Nashville, TN; Kristopher T. Worrell of Richmond, VA; Matthew D. Clarke of Columbus, OH; Sarah J. Clarke of Gallipolis; and Chandra N. Worrell of Max Meadows, VA; a brother, Ray L. (Winnie) Clarke of Letart; a sister-in-law, Neva Clarke of Letart; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Dr. Archie Conn officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant where military graveside rites will be given by West Virginia Army National Guard. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
