Chalmers Walter Ferguson

Chalmers W. Ferguson, 89, of Point Pleasant, WV, passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. He was born February 17, 1926, in Kentucky, a son of the late Charles Ferguson and Zola (Combs) Ferguson. Chalmers was a retiree of AEP-Kyger Creek Plant in Cheshire, Ohio and was an avid Kentucky Wildcat Fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Priscilla Noble; and a son, Robert Ferguson. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Phyllis (Mayes) Ferguson; sons, David (Marsha) Whitt of Point Pleasant and George Ferguson of Chicago, IL; one sister, Geneva (H.H.) Amburgy of Dayton, OH; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Chalmers was a loving and devoted husband and father. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2015, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor William "Sonny" Mayes officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Saturday at the funeral home.
