Cathy Jo Simpkins

Cathy Jo Simpkins, 60, of Point Pleasant, passed away Sunday, January 30, 2022, at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant. She was born August 5, 1961, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late Carl A. "Sonny" Simpkins and Sonia J. Decker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Jacob Briar Wolfe. Cathy was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1979.She served her country in the United States Army for six years and retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center in Gallipolis, OH. She is survived by her children, Kizma Simpkins of Columbus, OH and Alicia Simpkins of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Timothy Hill, Brooklyn Hill, Jayden Simpkins and Carter Parsons; a sister, Melissa M. (Paul) Wolfe of Pomeroy, OH; brothers, Carl David (Jeannie) Simpkins of Racine, OH, John "Crockett" (Camala) Simpkins of Henderson, Todd H. (Missy) Simpkins of Huntington and Clifford C. (Tammy) Simpkins of Hendersonville, NC; and her beloved dog Poppy. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Christian Scott officiating.Burial will follow at the Graham Cemetery in New Haven.Military graveside honors will be given by the West Virginia Army Honor Guard and Stewart Johnson VFW Post 9926 of Mason.The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Wednesday at the funeral home.
