Carolyn Winkler Fulks

Carolyn Winkler Fulks, 85, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with her Lord Friday, October 5, 2018, at home. She was born January 5, 1933, in Ashton, a daughter of the late Orville Kenneth "Buck" Sturgeon and Hilda Ona (Blake) Sturgeon. Carolyn was a member of New Hope Bible Baptist Church in Point Pleasant. She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1950, life time member of Pleasant Valley Hospital's Auxiliary, former member of the Point Pleasant Historical Society, 4-H Leader, P.T.A. President and Sunday School Teacher. During Carolyn's working career she was a teller for Citizens National Bank, a real estate agent for Homestead Realty in Point Pleasant and worked for Mr. Bartow Jones. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David R. Winkler; granddaughter, Shelley Winkler and an infant sister, Helen S. Sturgeon. She is survived by her husband, Charles W. Fulks of Point Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law, David R. and Shasta Winkler of Sherrills Ford, NC; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ted Box of Mason; one step-daughter, Emily Spires of Gallipolis, OH; four sisters, Evalee Shank of Gallipolis, OH, Evelyn (George) Rorrer of Bidwell, OH, Ruth Ann (William) Wallace of Columbia, SC and Etta Sue Sturgeon of Gallipolis, OH; one brother, Howard S. Sturgeon of Huntington, WV; four grandchildren, Moriah Winkler Edminson, Aubrey Winkler, Garrett (Brandy) Winkler, and Payton (Danielle) Winkler; and six great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Dean Warner officiating. Burial will follow at Balls Chapel Cemetery in Ashton. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday at the funeral home.
