Carol Ann McDaniel, 79, of Point Pleasant, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017, at Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant. She was born March 16, 1937, in Hartford, Connecticut, a daughter of the late George Harry Bader and Eva Theresa (Scotta) Bader. Carol was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant and Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary. She was a retired clerk for Bob's Market and Greenhouses. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morgan William McDaniel; and one sister, June Reams. She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Thomas) Thompson of Point Pleasant and Patricia McDaniel of Point Pleasant; two stepsons, Everett Ray (Patricia) McDaniel of Gallipolis, OH and Kenneth McDaniel of Point Pleasant; stepdaughter, Wanda O'Dell of Point Pleasant; and six grandchildren, Emily Thompson of Charleston, WV, Olivia Thompson of Pittsburgh, PA, Layne Thompson of Charlotte, NC, Mason McGraw, Brenna McGraw, and Maddox McDaniel of Point Pleasant. She is also survived by one niece, Donna Reams of Kentucky; and one special nephew, Greg Reams of Burlington, KY; and the love of her life Bailey. A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Point Pleasant, with Father Dave Schmitt officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., officiated by Rev. Prakash Sebastian. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made online to the American Diabetes Association or American Kidney Foundation.
