Carol E. "Eddie" Clonch, 70, of Gallipolis, OH, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016, at King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, KY. He was born November 10, 1945, in Southside, WV, a son of the late Buster Clonch and Dorothy Elizabeth (Higginbotham) Clonch. Carol had served his country honorably in the United States Army. During his working career, he worked as a laborer, was employed with Gallia County Schools in maintenance and later was a self employed contractor. He was a member of Laborers International Union of Portsmouth, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Cooper. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean (Freeman) Clonch whom he married September 14, 1968; one son, Wayne (Nancy) Clonch of Gallipolis; a daughter, Lisa (Michael) Price of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Candice Meaige, Megan (Richie) Corbin, Stephen Price and Aaron Price; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Meaige, Easton Meaige and Liam Corbin. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Dougie Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Addison-Reynolds Cemetery in Addison, where military graveside rites will be given by the WV Army Honor Guard and American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant.
