Bryan "Ashton" Jones, 26, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, February 25, 2017, from injuries received as a passenger, in an automobile accident. He was born June 2, 1990, in Point Pleasant, a son of Bryan William Jones and Karla Kay (Woodall) Jones of Point Pleasant. Ashton was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 2008. After graduation he played baseball at Bluefield State College and later attended Marshall University. In his spare time he loved playing guitar, fishing, golfing and kayaking. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Pearl W. Jones Jr. and Joan Jones; an uncle, Andrew Woodall; and cousin, Andrya Jordan. In addition to his parents Bryan and Karla, he is survived by one brother, Axyle Jones at home; two sisters, Erica Woodall of Point Pleasant and Emily Jones (Tad Greathouse) of Point Pleasant; maternal grandparents, Randall and Shirley Woodall of Point Pleasant; niece Emary and two nephews, Ethan Ash and Chance, all of Point Pleasant; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Ashton will be greatly missed by all that loved and knew him, especially for his smiling face. A funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Minister Pete Allinder officiating. Burial will follow at the Forest Hills Cemetery in Letart, WV. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
