Bill Narwood Fugate, 85, of Point Pleasant, died Saturday, September 26, 2009 at his home. He was a member of the Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church , a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII, was a retired assistant shift engineer with 32 years service from the Kyger Creek Power Generation Plant, and a member of the Point Pleasant American Legion Post No. 23, V.F.W. Post No. 9926 of Mason, A.A.R.P., and the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare. Bill was born January 7, 1924 in Chelyan, WV, a son of the late Jasper Byrd Fugate and Anna M. (Raines) Fugate. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian "Sami" Fugate; two sisters, Virginia Gardner and Ruth Nichols Gray; one brother, Jack Burton Fugate; and one stepson, Danny Hendrix. Surviving is his daughter, Tami Riggs and Dale Henry of Point Pleasant; one son, Bill Fugate, Jr. of Lexington, KY; one stepdaughter, Frankie Patricia Winchester of Rocklin, CA; one stepson, Lanny Hendrix of Brownsville, TX; one sister, Lou Ann Clark of Pasadena, MD; one grandchild; and three greatgrandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 30 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Rev. John Holland officiating.
