Betty Joan Swisher

Betty Joan Swisher, 67, of West Columbia formerly of Parsons, West Virginia, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Lakin Hospital. She was born September 6, 1942 in Parsons, a daughter of the late Robert H. Swisher and Georgia (Shoemaker) Swisher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Harriett Rosier and Nina Duke; and a brother-in-law, M.B. Rohrbough. Surviving are two sisters, Kathleen Rohrbough of Asheboro, NC, and Peggy (Joe) Moore of Newton Grove, NC; three brothers, David (Linda) Swisher of Spring, TX, Dick (Agnes) Swisher of Arizona, and Bob (Jean) Swisher; brother-in-law, Paul Duke of Houston, TX; 10 nephews and 8 nieces. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 14 at the Lakin Chapel in West Columbia with Pastor Charles Staats II officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakin Cemetery.
