Betty J. Fowler, 86, of Point Pleasant, died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Holzer Medical Center surrounded by her family and friends. She was born February 15, 1924 in Flatrock, WV, a daughter of the late Frank Gardner and Fay (Daugherty) Gardner. Betty was a homemaker, a graduate of Point Pleasant High School, and was a former employee of the Wilcoxen Funeral Home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, John P. Wheeler; and second husband, Lawrence (Johnny) Fowler; one sister, Shirley Gardner; one brother, Richard Gardner; and a great granddaughter, Leslie Caroline Weaver. Surviving are her children, Elnora (Clyde) Weaver of New Haven, Frank Wheeler of Point Pleasant, and Pamela (Ronald) Kapp of Point Pleasant; one brother, John Gardner; six grandchildren, Jason (Susan) Weaver of Crown City, OH, Heather (John) Haggy of Middleport, OH, Jessica (Rodney) Rickard of New Haven, Chris Kapp of Cornelius, NC, Robby (Sherie) Kapp of Patriot, OH, and Brook Kapp of Point Pleasant; five great grandchildren, Parker Haggy, Chase Denny, Olivia Haggy, Ellen Weaver, and Sydney Rickard; three step-great grandchildren, Julia, Laura and Aaron Gwinn of Crown City; a special friend, Mary Wilcoxen; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant with Pastor Johnny Hayman officiating.
