Betty Josephine Daugherty

Betty Josephine Daugherty, 78, of Point Pleasant, went home to be with her Lord Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at Charleston Area Medical Center in Charleston, WV. She was born March 23, 1938, in Jeffersonville, KY, a daughter of the late William Johnson Trimble and Myrtle Laura (Johnson) Trimble. Betty was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church in Point Pleasant and the United Methodist Women. She had worked for Purity Bakery and was a private caregiver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Bradley Thomas Robinson; one sister, Emma Jean Wolfe; and three brothers, Gordon, Robert and Thomas Trimble. She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Leo R. Daugherty of Point Pleasant; two daughters, Sherry Bowles of Charleston and Pamela (Tim) Short of Concord, NC; two step-children, Suetta (Howard) Bechtle of Leon and Roger (Sandy) Daugherty of Point Pleasant; five grandchildren, Teresa (Tony) Cooper, Hans (Amy) Robinson, Nathan (Jessica) Short, Nicholas Short and Trena (Shawn) Rhodes; three step-grandchildren, Howard Lee (Lisa) Bechtle, Joseph (Beth) Bechtle and Donna (Chris) Legg; and 11 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2017, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Matthew Dotson officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Visitation will be two hours prior to the funeral service Friday at the funeral home.
