Betty Jo Crump

Betty Jo Crump, 86, of Point Pleasant, went to heaven Friday, May 10, 2024, at Rivers Health in Point Pleasant.

She was born March 1, 1938, in Maggie, WV, a daughter of the late Worthy Thomas Burris Sr. and Ethel (Blake) Burris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Sue Lee; and brothers, Worthy Thomas Burris Jr., Carl Burris, Larry Burris and Stephen Burris.

Betty was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Point Pleasant.  She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1956 and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, William F. "Bill" Crump of Point Pleasant; daughters, Debra J. Blankenship of Point Pleasant, Donna C. (Jeff) Dixon of Winston Salem, NC and Diana J. (Donald) Barnette of Point Pleasant; grandchildren, Tessa Blankenship, Jacob Blankenship, Amanda Bates, Sara (Nathan) Roub and Cassandra (Navid) Thornton; great grandchildren, Quentin Blankenship, Kayce (Austin) Willoughby, Colby Arrington, Garrett Bates and Roma Roub; and great-great grandchildren, Eleana Willoughby and Zoey Willoughby.  She is also survived by a sister, Kimberly Burris of Point Pleasant; brother, Jack Burris of Henderson; and sisters-in-law, Sharon Burris, Janie Burris and Norma Burris.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the Rivers Health staff for their excellent care.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Doug Hendrixson officiating. Burial will follow at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Monday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
