Betty Lou Birchfield

Betty Lou Birchfield, 85, of Gallipolis Ferry, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV.

She was born January 27, 1938, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late Fred F. Willet and Nellie M. (Hutton) Willet.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Willet; and five sisters, Dorothy Boggs, Jacqulyn Boles, Ruth Morrison, Juanita Craig and Linda Logan.

Betty is survived by her husband of 65 years, Cecil A. Birchfield Jr. of Gallipolis Ferry; daughters, Kathy (Donald) Patterson of Bedford, VA, Robin Pearson of Point Pleasant and Lora Langdon of Gallipolis Ferry; a brother, Charles (Ella) Willet of Point Pleasant; a sister, Jean (Allen) Mayberry of Allentown, PA; and sister-in-law, Sandra Willet of Point Pleasant.  She is also survived by six grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; a special niece, Lisa (Tom) Withers of Barboursville, WV; and multiple nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Daniel Goodman officiating.  Burial will follow at the Harmony Cemetery in Southside.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral service Tuesday at the funeral home.
