Bernard L. Crawford

Bernard L. Crawford, 78, of Gallipolis Ferry, went home to be with his Lord Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Pleasant Valley Hospital. He was born July 22, 1938, in Hogsett, a son of the late Charles L. Crawford and Bessie M. (Bush) Crawford. Bernard was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Gallipolis, OH. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1956, served his country in the United States Marine Corps and a retired millwright from Century Aluminum. He is survived by his wife, Betty S. (Love) Crawford of Gallipolis Ferry; daughter and son-in-law, Trenda and Nelson Newell of Point Pleasant; son and daughter-in-law, Brian Scott and Misty Crawford of Point Pleasant; six grandchildren, Samuel Newell, Misty Newell, Sydney Crawford, Tori Pryor, Jasmine Pryor and Zavery McNeill; 10 great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Newell, Alyssa Martin, Nick Newell, Alexis Martin, Madison Grace Newell, Abella Martin, Hadleigh Pryor, Tristen Lewis, Charlie Heib and Lauryn Lewis. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2016, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Joseph Godwin officiating. Burial will follow at Apple Grove Memorial Gardens in Apple Grove. Military graveside rites will be given by the Marine Honor Guard and American Legion Post 23 of Point Pleasant.
