Barbara Lynn Saunders

Barbara Lynn Saunders, 58, of Henderson, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at home with family by her side. She was born November 29, 1958, in Ripley, WV, a daughter of Samuel Saunders and Elizabeth (Stover) Saunders of Point Pleasant. Barbara was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1977 and Marshall University. She was a teacher of math and spanish for 19 years in the Mason County School system. She is survived in addition to her parents by one daughter, Meghann (Jeremy) Johnson of Morgantown, WV; companion, James Cunningham of Henderson; a granddaughter, Dalya Johnson of Morgantown; and grandson, Lucca Moore of Harrisville, WV and his mother Heather Cunningham. She is also survived by one brother, Samuel (Diane) Saunders of Point Pleasant; a sister, Brenda (Terry) Proffitt of Racine, OH; one nephew, Malcolm (Miranda) Saunders of Point Pleasant; best friend and caregiver, Gena Smith of Ripley; fur kids, Rascal and Gypsy; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Pastor Bert Flora officiating. Burial will follow at the Jackson Memory Gardens in Cottageville, WV. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
