Audrey Thelma (Bright) Hoffman, 77, of Letart went home to be with her Lord Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Pleasant Valley Hospital in Point Pleasant after a long illness. She was an active member of Guiding Star Advent Christian Church. She was retired from the State of WV as a custodian for the Mason County Courthouse with 28 1/2 years service, and she was a member of the Letart Homemakers Club, committee woman for the Democratic Executive Committee, homemaker, avid bowler, and enjoyed fishing, gardening and quilting for friends and loved ones. Audrey was born May 26, 1931 in Henderson, WV to the late James L. Bright and Effie E. (Wolfe) Bright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Darrell C. Hoffman ; two infant children, Stephen Hoffman and Jennifer Lynn Hoffman; three sisters, Virginia E. "Toots" Clonch, Marie E. Clonch, and Lorena M. Bonecutter; two brothers, Harvey E. Bright and twin brother Addra E. Bright. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Donald W. and Lesa Hoffman of Point Pleasant; daughter and son-in-law, Shelby J. and Larry Davis of Letart; four grandchildren, Katherine "Katie" Jo Davis of Letart, Joshua Allen Davis of Letart, Erin Simms of Point Pleasant, and Jared Simms of Point Pleasant; and beloved caregivers, Diana Gardner of Gallipolis Ferry and Ann Gillispie of Point Pleasant. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 8 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Bledsoe officiating. Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Letart.
