Arnold Ray Higginbotham

Arnold Ray Higginbotham, 76, of Southside, died Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at home. Ray was born February 6, 1934 in Southside, a son of the late Floyd William Higginbotham and Grace Marie (Cornell) Higginbotham. He attended the Harmony Baptist Church, and was a mechanic. In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Surviving are his wife, Joan (VanSickle) Higginbotham of Southside; one son, Kevin (Patty) Higginbotham of Southside; a daughter, Deana (John) Hill of Southside; four grandchildren, Amy (Van) Clark of Point Pleasant, Chad (Chatel) Casto of Leon, and Brett and Byron Higginbotham of West Columbia, WV; two great grandchildren, Vannessa Clark and Christopher Casto; two sisters, Zora Rawson of Middleport, OH and Linda (Handley) Dunn of Rutland, OH; and one brother, Charles Alvin (JoAnn) Higginbotham of Southside. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 7, 2010 at the Beech Hill Cemetery in Southside with Rev. Fred McCallister officiating. Burial will follow.
