Archie Addison Newell

Archie Addison Newell, 88, of Bidwell, OH, passed away Friday, April 22, 2022, at Arbors of Gallipolis, Gallipolis, OH. He was born January 10, 1934, in Point Pleasant, a son of the late Homer Preston Newell and Oma Jane (Tucker) Newell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harold "Mousey" Newell and Danny Newell; and sisters, Anna (Jim) Craft, Millie (Lee) Summerlin and Phlou (Richard) Hartley. Archie was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1954.He retired from the United States Air Force and the Luiginos Food Distributor in Jackson, OH. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Janet Delores (Osborne) Newell of Bidwell; stepsons, Clifford L. (Yovenne) Rice of Lexington, KY and Kenneth A. (Tammy) Rice of Plato, MO; sisters, Opal (Harry) Tullos of Jacksonville, FL and Shirley Higginbotham of Grimms Landing, WV; five step-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at Kirkland Memorial Gardens in Point Pleasant. Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant is in charge of arrangements.
