April Dawn Blankenship, 35, of Point Pleasant, died Thursday June 18, 2009 at her home. She was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1992, attended University of Rio Grande, and was a member of Sand Hill Road Church of Christ. April was born February 20, 1974 in Gallipolis, Ohio, the daughter of Carl Kenneth Blankenship and Jacqueline (Reynolds) Blankenship of Point Pleasant. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Capt. Carl J. and Lucille Reynolds, and C.M. and Betty Blankenship. Surviving in addition to her parents are, aunts and uncles, Sandra and Walter Clark of Point Pleasant, Cheryl Blankenship of Proctorville, Ohio, LuAnne (Bud) Cottrill of St. Albans, WV and Mary Jane Blankenship of Proctorville, Ohio; cousins, Matt (Beth) Clark of Point Pleasant, Andy Cottrill of Ocala, FL, and Jennifer (Jimmy) Hall of Raleigh, NC; special cousins, Jack and Abbey Clark of Point Pleasant; special friend, Tonia Nott of Point Pleasant; and her canine companion, Promise. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Kirkland Memorial Gardens with Eugene Zopp officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant.
