Anna Elizabeth (Norris) Marcum 78, of Point Pleasant formerly of Nolan, WV went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 1, 2006, in the Holzer Medical Center following a long illness. She was born May 10, 1928 to the late George and Hattie Norris, Hatfield, KY. Anna attended Pikeville College where she was in the top of her class. She graduated from Marshall University and began her teaching career at Nolan Elementary where she taught until her retirement in 1986. After moving to Point Pleasant in 1986 she joined the Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary where she worked in the gift shop and later the craft room until her health was failing. She was a member of the Silver Memorial freewill Baptist Church in Kanauga, Ohio. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Marcum; three brothers, Robert, Hubert and William D. Norris. Surviving are a son, Burian Marcum of Williamson, WV; two grandchildren, Matthew and Monica Marcum of Williamson; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Ramona Norris of Forest Hills, KY; three Sisters and brother-in-law, Louise Gibson of Williamson, WV, Dixie Bevins of West Chester, Ohio and Martha and Chester Cochran of Point Pleasant with whom she made her home. Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky, with Pastor Earl White officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens at Maher, WV. Visitation will be held Monday, October 2, 2006, from 6-9 p.m. at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, WV, and Tuesday, October 3, at the R.E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, KY from 6-9 p.m..
