Anita Gale Chapman, 58, of Gallipolis Ferry, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at home. She was born April 16, 1957, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late Harry L. Wallis and Frances Belle (Yester) Wallis. Gale was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School Class of 1975 and had worked as a medical transcriptionist for Nuance Transcription Services. Her passion was being active in the work of her Lord Jesus Christ in local churches. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Clifford Chapman; one brother, Benny Lee Wallis; and an infant sister. She is survived by three step-children, Rodney (Denise) Chapman of Milton, Greg Chapman of Kenova and Kimberly Keeney of Milton; one brother, Terry (Dianne) Wallis of Gallipolis Ferry; two sisters, Darelene (Kenneth) Hayes of Pomeroy, OH and Marilyn (Olin Jr.) Blain of Gallipolis Ferry; a sister-in-law, Anna Wallis of Gallipolis Ferry; four step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Wilcoxen Funeral Home in Point Pleasant, with Rev. Joann Hicks and Rev. Jeff Scites officiating. Burial will follow at the Zion Cemetery in Gallipolis Ferry. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
