Amy Dawn (Thornton) Smith, 36, of McArthur, OH, died Sunday, December 3, 2017, at Holzer Medical Center in Jackson, OH.She was born November 17, 1981, in Point Pleasant, a daughter of the late George A. Thornton Sr. and Dorothy "Dottie" M. (Thevenin) Thornton.Amy was a homemaker and attended various churches in the area.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Smith.She is survived by two sisters, Jean Ann Patterson and husband Richard of Point Pleasant and Kyla Thornton Fulks of Florida; three brothers, George Abraham Thornton Jr. and wife Tonya of Point Pleasant, Jason Rose and wife Angela of Erwin, TN and Daniel Castle of Warren, OH; stepfather, Dale Rose of Point Pleasant; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
