Alma Rose Birchfield

Alma Rose Birchfield, 86, of Southside, died Saturday, January 26, 2008 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Point Pleasant. Alma was a homemaker and attended Viers Chapel Church at Southside, WV. She was born May 3, 1921 in Southside, WV to the late Charles A. and Laura (Hawkins) Birchfield. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Della Barrett; and two brothers, Harold Birchfield and Kenneth Birchfield. Surviving are a special nephew, Rick and Sandy Birchfield of Southside; a special sister-in-law, Nancy Birchfield of Point Pleasant; two sisters, Stella Leport of Henderson; and Maxine Perdue of Huntington, WV and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2008 at the Wilcoxen Funeral Home with Rev. Agnes Beard officiating. Burial will follow in the Viers Chapel Cemetery at Southside, WV. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
